Pendleton Friends of the Library Hosts Book Sale at Convention Center

 

PENDLETON, Ore. – The Pendleton Friends of the Library is hosting its annual book sale on October 24 26 at the Pendleton Convention Center. PFOL was founded in 1981 to support the Pendleton Public Library.

This years’ sale is PFOL’s biggest fundraiser of the year with over 50,000 books and other media for sale including children’s books, adult fiction, nonfiction, music CDs and DVDs. This year, the sale will feature an expanded selection of rare books, ephemera and bookish gifts including PFOL branded apparel and Storiarts selections. All of the money raised will go to PFOL to support programs materials and other needs at the Pendleton Public Library.

This year’s sale will open with a members preview sale starting at 7pm on October 24. Admission to the preview night will be limited to PFOL members. PFOL membership can be purchased or renewed at the door or in advance in their online shop. PFOL membership begins at $10 per year.

The sale will be open to the public from 10am 8pm on Friday, October 25 and 10am 2pm Saturday, October 26. The sale will end with a $3 bag sale from 3pm 5pm on Saturday, October 26. All books are sold first-come, first-served and books cannot be reserved or placed on hold.

According to their website, PFOL was established in 1981 when a group of concerned citizens saw the need to support the Pendleton Public Library in a time of economic difficulty. PFOL maintains membership in the national organization of Friends of the Library. Their funding comes from membership dues, the annual fall book sale, fundraisers, memorials, bequests and contributions. PFOL has been granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service.
