According to the November 5, 2024 Oregon Voter’s Pamphlet, Measure 118 increases corporate minimum tax on Oregon sales exceeding $25,000,000 and eliminates the tax cap. Further, it distributes revenue to eligible individuals and the state replaces any lost federal benefits.
The statements supporting Measure 118 are either furnished by Antonio Gisbert or Oregon Senator Brian James Boquist.
According to the website of Oregon Rebate Yes! on 118, “the people of Oregon are the backbone of our economy but many … are struggling financially and hard work no longer guarantees a good life. Measure 118 aims to strengthen our financial security and the financial security of our communities and small businesses by investing directly in Oregon’s greatest resource – its people.”
Opponents of Measure 118 include the Oregon Farm Bureau, Jason D. Williams, Mia Noren, Sarah Duckwall, Katie Murray, the Oregon Beverage Alliance, Jim Fitzhenry, Lori Olund, TJ Reilly, Kurt Straube, Marcus C. Mundy, the Black Business Association of Oregon, Fawn Berrie, Angela Wilhelms, Oregon Senator Kate Lieber, the Oregon Home Builders Association, the Oregon Retail Council, Noah Robinson, Ray Johnson, Edward E. I think Gisbert and Boquist need to check their numbers again; it seems like the people say NO on Measure 118.
